Rockin' Manga - "Bloody Monday"

"Taka Fujimaru may seem like a regular high school student, but behind the cheery facade lies a genius hacker by the name of Falcon. When his father is framed for murder, Falcon uses his brilliant hacking skills to try and protect his sister and clear his father's name. However, he finds that his father, an agent in an elite government agency, was involved with something far more complex than a simple murder. A terrorist group is plotting against the city of Tokyo and it is up to Falcon, with the help of his friends, to unravel the twisted plans to kill millions."

I don't usually write about manga, so when I do, shit just got serius man. My mind was a hostage for two days reading this manga from start to end. It had been a while since I read something this engaging ...well I did finished Neil Gaiman's "American Gods" last month, which is a monster in its own kind I tell you. But there is this charm that only japanese manga posses, the storytelling style with drawings, that kinda make you more invested in the story rather than just words alone. Something that I think the western comics failed at, and as the result, created this kinda stupid animosity toward any comics in general...that comic is just for little kids and nerdy guys only.

Well, I dont deny that, for western comic, because I think it is geared toward that specific kind of audiences. At least for the industry giants like Marvel and DC, with its countless generations and reboots of the same old figures. Milking the same cash-cow over and over again. Though it is true, that not all of the western comics are about superheroes in bright spandex costume fucking with injustice on daily basis, but the impression left by the supposed big names, or representatives, of what comics are, are these superheroes genre. Same kinda impression, I think, about the current music trend. The impression left by the supposed representatives; Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga and shits, tend to color the opinion of the masses about music...

Enough trash talk. I'm sure there are quite many great western comics out there, just need to dig through the garbage piled on top of it.

I invite you, then, to a roller-coaster adventure of Bloody Monday.

Marley (2012)

 Bob Marley's universal appeal, impact on music history and role as a social and political prophet is both unique and unparalleled. MARLEY is the definitive life story of the musician, revolutionary, and legend, from his early days to his rise to international superstardom. Made with the support of the Marley family, the film features rare footage, incredible performances and revelatory interviews with the people that knew him best. From Academy Award-winning director Kevin Macdonald (One Day In September, The Last King of Scotland) comes the story of a towering figure of musical history, whose music and message has transcended different cultures, languages and creeds to resonate around the world today as powerfully as when he was alive.

Cleanin up the mess

Alright, I'm back in the game..so first thing first, need to sort out all of them dead links. All my Megaupload links are dead, sadly, and Filesonic and Fileserve pulled the plug a couple of days back, only allowing people to download stuff that they personally upload on the 'Net. Fucking reduced to nothing more than a personal online storage, what a shame...if one can get past the stupidity of spending time to upload something on the internet so they can spend more time to fucking download it back sometime later. Never heard of external hard drive, ye cunts?

 I do get the shivers though, when I thought about what will happen if they do shut down all the filesharing sites? An unlikely scenario I agree, as more new sites will just be born from the ashes, but just imagine the horror of, say, if Rapidshare and Mediafire also kick the bucket. Such a waste, all those efforts of countless generations of  my piratical brethren gone to naught in just a couple of minutes. I knew a website I used to frequent to download most of my asian movies, Myac.Asia, which practically crippled and killed the minute they put the bullets in the back of poor Megaupload's head. In a broken-hearted announcement the devastated admin claimed he(or she) had lost about over 15,000 files, the efforts of 3 years of uploading stuff to the masses. If that happened to me, man, I'd be fucking suicidal...homicidal, even.

 But what the hell man, that's life. To quote Muddy Water's character in the magnificent Cadillac Record;

" You and me not gonna wake up every morning and get everything we want. Mostly we got to take what come. And half the time, that's gonna be a bunch of bullshit."

 Best we learn to live with the bullshits, I guess, survival of the fittest and all that...

 But first thing first, need to clean up the dead links and upload new ones. I need to personally upload everything, for good measure, instead of ripping someone else links. Now that gonna take a little while, especially all the big concerts and suchlike. . So, in the mean time, here is a rocking Vader demonstrating the awesomeness of the dark side of music.
